100% of the money from this shirt will be directed to The Racial Justice Organizing Committee which is a space for educators and allies to engage in collective learning and action for racial justice to make our schools, and as a result the city, places that allow for Black and brown students, educators, and families to thrive.
BELOW ARE THEIR DEMANDS:
We want curriculum and pedagogy that recognizes the collective contribution of all groups to modern society.
We want public school-based policies that resist the criminalization of students of color - fund counselors not cops!
We want fully funded programs to assist in the mitigation of student trauma.
We want consistent and continual anti-racist and bias training for all educators.
We want a full and fair funding formula that can provide for all of the needs of our students and schools.
We want standardized testing to end and no longer be used as the criteria to shutter schools since these tactics adversely affect low income, Black, and Latino communities.
We want to attract, develop, and retain more teachers of color.
We want fair, affordable housing for all students.
We want a fair process that encourages parent participation in student development.
